Is CVI Run-Time Module for Linux (eval) available via NI.com download?

Hey "bilalD",

Is the "CVI Run-Time Module for Linux" (eval. version) available via an NI.com download URL? When you go to that link on the page for the evaluation software download, it provides the 419 MB Windows (8.0.1) version evaluation instead. Was this a mistake on your web site? Or is it available somewhere on your FTP site instead.

I deliberately waited about a month to see if this was just a goof by your webmaster, and if the download link would be fixed, but it is still a Windows-based download.

Also, there are no manuals for it on the ni.com/manuals location... That would be a great resource to look at if for some reason you decide to never offer this evaluation version for download.

Jumper,

At the moment, there is no evaluation version of the CVI Linux Run-Time Module.  If you're interested, I can send the help files to you.  E-mail support@ni.com with the service request number: 865175 in the subject line.  I'll reply to you with the help files.

If there's anything else I can help you with, let me know!

I did exactly what you said, I sent an email to support@ni.com, with this number (and only this number) in the subject line: 865175

I got an email that said "we ask that all new electronic support requests be submitted through our web site".

So that's what i'm going to do now.

Thought you'd want to know that this happens, though...

OK, I went to www.ni.com/ask, as the email reply to my last failed attempt told me to do... I got this:

"Email Support Not Available for Basic Support

Our records indicate that your 30 day trial service contract has expired. However you still have access to Basic Support. Basic Support entitles you to support from our National Instruments Engineers and Fellows through our on-line NI Discussion Forums. In order for us to continue providing you the best support, please contact a Technical Sales Representative at 1-800-433-3488 to discuss your support options. "

Well, I bought a Developer Suite license in February of this year, with one year of SSP. So how it expired, that is beyond me.

So I'm back here at these forums, as instructed. What's next, should I call in my request using your toll free number?

Ya know, too much automation can be a bad thing, even for an automation company...
