Looking for an LabWindows example that controls a GPIB device via a GPIB-232VT-A controller. This is my first time using a GPIB-232VT-A external controller and I want to make sure I am doing everything correctly. I am going to be controlling at HP6654 power supply using the Instrument driver that I downloaded from NI.

Any comments/examples would be great.

Hello-

There are two external controller for serial ports, GPIB-232CT-A and GPIB-232CV-A both are very different. The problem is that these controllers do not have a direct passport for VISA. It may be a better option upgrading to a GPIB controller that has a VISA passport. There are drivers for the 6654 available at ni.com/idnet. So, it would definately be worth the extra time.

I recommend the GPIB-ENET/100. It is external, but runs on Ethernet.
