Very dissapointed Smiley Sad. This is why i never like message boards. oh, well, guess i will contract NI directly about this issue. I was hoping at least someone could reproduce the same results so i could determin if it was a problem with my PC or a problem in the software.

Well, as much as it would be nice for somebody to be waiting on the boards to answer every single question, it just isn't always going to happen. It could be that nobody has the time to investigate the problem or nobody else has run into it. The majority of the people who come here are people who do not work for National Instruments and our experience, ability to help and enthusiasm all vary.

Remember, most of us are users/customers too, we come here looking for our own answers and hopefully can also contribute something to help somebody else.

Well, at least you could have spent 60seconds more and downloaded the program too see if you had the same problem. Smiley Sad

I have already oped a support request to NI and sent them the details. I thought it would be benefical for others to see the problem and be aware of it, if they run into it. It may very well be an isolated case to all the computers + laptop in my office. Or not.

I ran the app with the breakpoints set as you described, but I didn't see the lockup. I used CVI 8.0.1 on a Dell Dimension 4500 running XP Pro.

I don't have a Athlon-64 around here to test it out, I don't know if you tried this on any of the 32-bit machines.

Okay thanks, I give the eval version of 8 a try. But if we don't have an update for a full version, i will have to continue to use 7.1.1.

Much thanks,
