Noise Reading NI 6115

Hi all,

I am using NI61150  and LabWindow CVI to sample 25KHz signal using channel 1. I made sure that may daq configuration is correct by compare it with other teams who used NI 61150 before. Also, I traced the signal to channel one to make sure it's there. The problem I am facing is: every time I do reading I receive noise between -700 mV to 900 mV. Do you have any suggestions, also, do you know about a self test software of NI 61150 that I can use.

my sampling rate is .0000003 number of samples are 4096S, Signal Voltage 9V

Hello,

There are a lot of factors that can introduce noise into your measurement system, so it is mostly a matter of narrowing things down until we can elimintate the source of the noise.

If you short the inputs to channel one together (to effectively measure a 0 voltage), what are your readings?
Which pins do you have your signal connected to?
Does the noise only appear on channel 1, or on other channels as well?
Does the noise appear when you read in the measurement in a test panel in Measurement and Automation Explorer?

I would also take a look that this article that goes over field wiring and noise considerations, it has a lot of useful information.
