OK, I give up. How do I create a file template?

I want to create and use a user-defined file template in CVI 8.5.

I put the file in the \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\CVI  folder as the help file says.

But when I try to create a new file from template, my user-created template is not offered as a template - just the default one CVI has.

What am I doing wrong?

Hi menchar,

You should place your file templates in \Documents and Settings\All Users\Documents\National Instruments\CVI\File Templates.  There were changes between CVI 8.5 and 8.1 and a documentation error we just found recently. See the New project and file templates post for more information.
