Problem with HP 83624A Driver

Hello again,

I´m working with HP 83624 Synthesized Sweeper, but i have a problem.

After searching and downloading the Instrument Driver i started to execute the driver but it doesnt work.

The Sweeper noticed me : HP-IB Syntax Error and the Test-Programm stops with this error.

" NON-FATAL RUN-TIME ERROR:   "hp836xx.c", line 172, col 31, thread id 0x00000A04:   Function viRead: (return value == -1073807339 [0xbfff0015]). Timeout expired before operation completed."

Can anybody help me?

Is it possible to control the Sweeper with the GPIB-Library like "ibwrt" ? I cannot find any codes in the HP Manual, only SCPI commands.

I found for an other HP Instrument a driver with commands in the GPIB Library, the 83624A Driver is in VISA.

According to the post below it might be easier to use VISA, especially since you already have the driver.

You need check the type of VISA you are using depending on the type of controller you might have to install a different one (last entry in the post below)
