[Q] Creating an IVI driver based on existing driver

When I used the LabWindows/CVI IVI wizard to create an IVI driver based
on an existing VXI PNP driver, it failed to generate a *.sub file. How
do I get a *.sub file? Can I simply copy a 'new' *.sub file created
using the generic template? If so, what do I need to do to "tie it" to
the new IVI driver?

I hope my post gets your question some attention from NI. I am looking to do the same thing. From my searches on their website it seems that this is only available in Measurement Studio. LabWindows/CVI seems to be able only to generate a skeleton for an IVI class specific driver to be completed by the developer. Is this the case?

Check out the last post on this thread.  In summary, "The sub file will only be created if you are creating the driver from an existing IVI driver. Legacy drivers have no .sub files for the utility to reference".
