I am using the SPC toolkit (Version 1.1.1) for Labwindows/CVI version 7.0 on Windows 2000. I have input data to check that the rules are working correctly. However rule 3 (6 points in a row steadily increasing/decreasing)and rule 4 (14 consecutive points alternating up and down) fail to be flagged as violating the rules. Is this a known problem ?
Thanks for the update but how does that help me now? I have to deliver this application in 2 weeks. I bought the toolkit as it provided this very functionality. The SPC toolkit was written in 1998, that is 7 years ago and R&D are just aware of the problem !! Sorry if this sounds a bit aggressive but I am under pressure to deliver this application and I was the one who picked the tools and techniques used as the domain expert. My boss is not a forgiving man, failure equals unemployment.
We have verified that these rules are misbehaving. The source for the spc toolkit is under ..\National Instruments\CVI71\spc\spc.c . If you are running into this problem, please let us know and we can provide you with the fixed version of the source. I'll also document this issue in a knowledgebase so that its easier to find out about.
