Hi everyone,
I'm an engineer working on pneumatic systems in Germany. I have a program (.exe file) generated by LabWindows which I use to measure the pressure and flow of air through a valve. The programm is most of the time reliable, but sometimes (although very seldom) the measurement is not real time, i.e., the read in sensor value is several seconds delayed. I've been working with the software for 7 months now and this problem occurred only two times. The problem is that we're working on products and the measurement must always be real time. Could anyone suggest why such thing occurs?
Thanks much!!

My suspicion would be that this is caused by the operating system. Windows is not a real-time OS so there is nor guaranteed response time. Imagine, for example, a virus scan... running in parallel, or file system indexing taking place, or...
