Two things: 1. XML in CVI 2. Problems with distribution kits

hallo,

1. are there any possibilities to use XML inside CVI - best without ActiveX ?

2. building distribution kits inside CVI8.0.1 there are problems. after creating DKs, closing CVI and reopening the pathes to "Your readme file", "License agreement file" and "Welcome message file" are manipulated ? and if someone uses the installer the message "Unable to find..." appears. any idea?

best regards

1. I have just finished a project that uses the CVI XML library (not ActiveX). Pretty easy going - see the NI supplied sample for hints. (in ...\samples\toolbox\XMLSample.cws)

2. Sorry - can't help with this one (I use CVI 7.0).

As per your first question, you can study this sample project shipped with CVI: \samples\toolbox\XMLsample.prj

Answered contemporarily with jr Smiley Very Happy
And with the same answer on question #2 (still I'm using 7.1, installed version 8 but it's still ad study level)

Hi Simon,

I'd like to help you with your distribution problem, but I'm going to need some more details.  I do not see a change in the paths of the items you mentioned when CVI is restarted.  What are the original paths, and what are the "manipulated" paths?  Is there anything special about these paths?

Regarding the installation error ("Unable to find..."), could you please give the full text of the error message?  Also, do you see this installation error on multiple machines, or just one?  If you build an installer for one of the example programs (just using default distribution settings) do you still see this error?

If you can provide me with these details, I may be able to help you.
