That's not surprising: cvi 8.5 is targeted to Windows Vista at last, while 2017 starts from Win7 on!
If your sentence means that you have created an executable in CVI2017 and cannot run it on a different PC with CVI8.5 intalled then you may want to try creating a distribution for your application so that the correct runtime and additional software is installed on the target macine, but you may run into some constraint if the target machine OS is too old.
