Uir file formats

Hi,

Is there a way to find out which format an UIR file has. The most interesting UIR formats for us are:

  • LabWindows/CVI 7.1 User Interface (*.uir)
  • LabWindows/CVI 8.0–8.1 User Interface (*.uir)
  • LabWindows/CVI 8.5–9.0 User Interface (*.uir)

Good question.
I develop for CVI Linux 8.0 using the Windows 8.5 version and I keep
forgetting to use [Save as] instead of Ctrl-S. If I could test it in my
makefile, it would save on useless invalid commits.

Although there's no good way to find out what format a .UIR file was saved in, we are making a change in CVI whereby it will remember the last format that you saved it in and use that by default. This way you won't have to remember to use "Save As" each time.

I apologize for the inconvenience up until now.

Thanks, I appreciate... although I'd rather have the Linux version able to
load 8.5 UIR files... Hint, hint...

PS: I won't try the 9.0 version for now because of lack of Linux support,
but has the UIR format changed again ?

It has not changed between 8.5 and 9.0.
