Hmm... I'm not seeing the same issue here.  The file is too big to attach to the forum - can you even see the file if you browse to the ftp location through explorer?  If nothing else works, do I have your permission to contact the forum administrator to get your email address to send the file to you?

Thanks,

Nick.... the period on the end was the problem... I hate it when that happens to me :-)... the FTP download worked... I'm on it.

Thanks!

Nick,

    I have this splash screen on CVI start-up, I assume this is correct?

I tried to load the instrument driver under development in an empty project... here is the resulting screen crash... {attached}

If I open a project, all is fine, intruments load and the precompile completes without a problem. I even loaded manually the instrument driver under developement as well, still no crash. the Temp\26a3_appcompat.txt file along with the DrWatson debug files are in a file named CVI_Debug.zip on the  FTP site.

At this mment I can't gain access to the incoming because of my firewall... as soon as I can I will post I did attach the CVI_Debug.zip to this post

Hey Chip -

I'm sorry, I forgot to mention one important thing.  The dumps thar are generated by Dr. Watson by default are mini dumps, and don't contain quite enough information for us.  If you could change one setting, and then post the resulting dump to the ftp site, we would really appreciate it.

To make Dr. Watson provide a full crash dump, open cmd and type c:\WINDOWS\System32\drwtsn32.exe.  You will be shown the following GUI - make sure that you select "full" crash dumps.  The next dump you get will be much bigger - so you will most likely have to post it to the ftp site.  Let me know if you have trouble with that.

Thanks again!

Hey Chip -

Actually - the file that is important to us is the .dmp file.  This is also the file that is likely to be much larger now, and require placement on the ftp site, so if you could let me know when it's up, I'll start taking a look.

Thanks!

Nick,

  Is ther any reason why I don't get a "user.dmp" file? I see the .log file, but no .dmp?

Hmm... not that I can think of.  Are you making sure you press "Don't send" when you see the standard Microsoft crash dialog?  Also - after you changed to the full dump, did you run drwtsn32.exe -i again?  I thought it would persist from the first time you did it, but it would be worth trying.
