application failed to initialize properly (0x0000005) for CVI 6

We have developed some software that uses CVI6
as the engine. Lately two users have purchased new
computers running XP service pack 2, with Macaffe
anti-virus. They have reported the following error,
"application failed to initialize properly (0x0000005)"
even though there was no problem on their old
computers. This problem is caused by a
conflict with the CVI Application and Device Control of
Windows. Is it likely that an upgrade to CVI9 would fix
this problem?"

XQiu,

I'm not sure if upgrading your development system to CVI 9.0 would help (it probably wouldn't hurt though), but you could try installing the latest version of the CVI run-time engine on the users' new computer.  The CVI run-time engine is fully backwards compatible, so it should be able to run the code developed in CVI 6.0.  A link to the download is here: http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/1285/lang/en
