automotive diagnostic command set and periodic messages on same can port

Hello everybody,

Is it possible to use NI AutomotiveDiagnostic Command Set to communicate with a MCU with KWP2000 protocol and simultaneously  send periodic CAN messages on the SAME CAN interface (CAN0 or else ) and also using this port port to do some CCP communication ?

Hi,

I think that you want to do is impossible. If you configure your CAN port, LabVIEW lock this interface (to avoid to override the first configuration) so you can not usefor CAN and KWP2K simultaneously.

But you can use 2 CAN port, there are always 2 ports on National Instruments board, one for KWP2000 and the other for CCP and CAN. You can plug2 ports on the same wire because it's serial protocol.
