bug

Just a bug found in CVi version 8.0 (and earlier).  On the build menu, Generate Prototypes causes an Unrecoverable Internal Error when in Release Configuration.  Probably serves me right for trying to do it in release mode, but without any visible indication (it would be nice if the toolbar button for switching modes would change based on the mode) of what mode I am in, I sometimes make the mistake.

Greg,

I have confirmed that this happens if the object file was built with a non-cvi compiler (for example, in 8.0, if you are using an external release compiler). Thanks for the report; the fix for this should be in the next release.

alex,

I wasn't using an external compiler, just the CVi compiler.

If that is the case and you still see the problem, there may be something else going on. I had no problems doing Generate Prototypes in release mode using the CVI compiler; did you try to mark for recompilation and rebuild? Is the problem in a small file or a complex one? Any other information you can give me would be helpful.

Thanks,
