build does not create executable

Sounds definitely like some AntiVirus interception. Just had something similar with PyCharm. Creating a Python Source file, saving it to disk into the user folder, trying to rename it and PyCharm complains that the file doesn't exist. Looking in Explorer I see the file appear and then shortly after magically disappear. Not yet sure what is the culprit but the Event Viewer doesn't show any messages about a Virus Scanner believing to have found something bad.

Yes: I have observed this behaviour with Norton and (i seem to remember) McAfee. In both cases the executable created was quarantined and deleted from the output folder. There was no evidence in the Event Viewer, but inside the antivirus program all these activities were logged and we were able to set an exception to declare the new executable safe so that it was retained from this moment on.

Proud to use LW/CVI from 3.1 on.
