how to set graph control division spacing, incorrect for scaled graph

Normally, leaving the default division spacing is good in the graph controls.

But when I use ATTR_XAXIS_GAIN, the division spacing becomes wrong. The spacing doesn't decrease as I zoom into the graph, so I don't get enough granuality to read the graph at fine scales. Setting ATTR_XDIVISIONS doesn't seem to work. Is this a bug? Is there some way to set the division spacing?

Could you provide some pictures of the problem you are seeing? or a CVI project were we could see this more clearly? it will be faster for everyone to see it that way.
