ibfind causing general protection fault in labwindows CVI 9.0

We have moved code from version LabWindows/CVI 7.1 to 9.0.  When we try to run the code now there is a general protection fault whenever the GPIB commands are accessed.  What would cause this and how can it be fixed.

Thanks,

Ken

Hello Ken,

This is Andrew Brown, an Applications Engineer from National Instruments. In order to troubleshoot your issue further, I would appreciate if you could answer the following questions:

1. Are the two LabWindows/CVI versions (7.1, 9.0) installed on the same computer or different computers?

2. If they are installed on the same computer, have you reinstalled NI-488.2 since you upgraded LabWindows/CVI?

3. If they are not installed on the same computer, are you able to communicate with the GPIB devices using other methods (within Measurement & Automation Explorer)?

As a general rule, you need to install the base software (LabWindows/CVI, LabVIEW, etc), then the drivers to ensure proper operation. If this is not the case, if we can communicate with the device using other methods then we know that the hardware and cable setup is functional.

Please let me know the results of the troubleshooting questions. I will be happy to help you get up and running with your newer version of LabWindows/CVI!

Regards,
