Using RS232, inp, and outp works fine on Win2K, just as it does on NT. Along the same lines, fast computers (AMD Athlon, Intel PIII and P4 based) work exactly the same way older and slower computers (486 and pentium classic) do, except for timing issues you run into with regards to when data and handshaking signals are to be sent. The main thing to remember is that you need to include the CVI low-level driver with any distribution kit you plan to install on Win2K when using functions like inp and outp, and this is described well in Chapter 7 of the LabWindows/CVI Programmer's Reference manual.
