install vc++ again

dear sir:
Two weeks ago I installed measurement studio for vc on my pc and i can use it.Today i uninstall the vc6.0,and i can no install vc6.0 again.System tell me error in such a file valec.exe ,why?

Was OS is this on? I found a link on the Microsoft website that mentions something similar. Perhaps it might be the same problem. Also, make sure that you are admin on the system. Did you uninstall Measurement Studio as well, before installing Visual Studio 6.0 on the machine? I havnt really seem a problem like this related to Measurement Studio before, but I hope the info I gave you helps.
