Did you mean:

monitor parallel port of another PC

Hi,

We have an old DOS based system with an application sw was written in TruboPascal and the source code is not available for it.
It means, that there is no way to make any modification in this system, but I need to get somehow  data from it.
The data I need is sent out via parallel port to a label printer. I need to "catch" it somehow and record it.

Is there any way to connect a second Windows based PC to the parallel port of the old system and record the traffic of the port?

Thx,

I'd used this Parallel to Serial Converter (http://www.bb-europe.com/product.asp?SKU=232SPS2&Trail=2&TrailType=Top) to capture data (that was sent to a printer) to my PC serial port, and then send it back out to the printer using the PC parallel port with a small program written in LabWindows/CVI.  It actually works as advertised Smiley Happy
