newport driver

Dear friends,

I have some problems to init Newport 2832-C Dual_Channel Power Meter:

Newport GPIB has no doc show the sequence of data collection. Buffer has two or three previous data value to show the new data even I did:

LOOP:
Start new data value
"STOP_A"  stop channel acq
"DSCLR_A"  Data Store clear
"RUN_A"    Start ch data acq
"R_A?"     Read ch meas quary
LOOP_END

It does not help even I change the buffer size to 1 from default 100.
If you know how to clear those buffer, you are the big helper to me!

Hi JD,

You posted in the CVI forum, so I assume you are not using LabVIEW. I didn't see a CVI driver on our instrument driver network, but I looked at the LabVIEW driver that was available. It is not officially supported by National Instruments, but searching through the VIs, it looks like the driver sends a "DevClear" command to "empt[y] the 2832-C's GPIB output queue and clear the MAV bit". I'd give this a shot and see if it works for you. Thanks!
