no thumbnail preview on taskbar for CVI when debug process is executed

I am wondering why there is no thumbnail preview on the Windows taskbar for CVI when its debugged process is being executed.

I am attaching two screenshots for Win7 and CVI2015.

I tried to reproduce the behavior on my system, but I do not see the behavior. Attached, you can find a screenshot, of what I see.

Do you see this behavior on multiple machines?

Do you have a customized Windows installation?

Does the thumbnail preview appear after waiting  while? Sometimes Windows needs some time to load the preview.

Do you do something special, that I can do to reproduce the behavior?

Hi Melanie,

Thanks for looking into it! I tried the same project as you and got the same result as you - as long as the Environment setting 'Hide windows when application is running' is not set.

You can reproduce my observation when checking this setting. The debugger will hide/minimize its window, leaving only the taskbar icon as is standard Windows behaviour. But unlike other Windows programs it will not show a thumbnail...

thank you for the hint.

I see the same behavior as you described in the original post when activating "Hide windows when application is running".

I am not sure, if this is a CVI issue or a Windows one. I wiil take a deeper look into that and let yo know about the results.
