Under Win98 or XP I could launch multiple instances of CVI by opening any CVI project (prj) files from Windows Explorer. With Vista if I double click on a second prj file it closes the first project and only allows one project to be open.
I can open 2 instances of CVI by launching each instance from the Start Menu but then I have to open the required project for each instance after CVI is open.
I tried setting compatibility mode to Win98 or XP but no difference.
Is there a way to make Visa launch multiple CVI projects by simply opening (double clicking) the prj files?
It must have been asked a zillion times but why does MS keep breaking things that everyone is happy with aaaaahhhhhh !!!!

Hello AEDL,
I don't believe there is anything you can set in the LabWindows/CVI environment itself to accomplish this task. This appears to be an issue with Vista across applications (i.e. including Excel, PowerPoint, etc.). As I looked into the issue further, the only solution that I came across was to create another user for your machine and then use the command prompt to launch the file on behalf of that other user. This approach is a bit convoluted and kind of defeats the purpose of your task, especially if you can just manually open two instances of the environment as recognized.
