record/playback of simulated response

Hi,
How to perform the recording and playback of simulator simulated data response? Does the traditional simulator drivers support it? Can anyone please explain me with the example of Ividcpwr (DC power supply) class driver.
i want to know if there are any tools that can perform the recording and playback of the simulator responses.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I'm not sure I fully understand what you are trying to do.  Are you wanting to use CVI to connect to some external hardware that will be outputting simulated data?  What exactly do you mean traditional simulator drivers?  If you can provide more information on what you are wanting to do, I will be able to help you out better.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply..I guess i couldn't frame my question properly...

Actually i want to know if recording and playback of simulated data is supported by IVI simulation drivers or the IVI specific drivers run in simulation mode. for example, one can perform a test on a instrument and record its output data (in case of a measurement instrument) in a data stream and then when the instrument is run in simulation mode, we can playback the data which was already recorded. This simulated data would be more close to the actual data than just generating a random number in the given range (as in DMM).

So i want to know if any such record/playback feature is already available with the drivers or we have to write our own code and plug it into the specifc driver.

Kindly help me out with this query.

Thanks in advance.

Priya.

Hi Priya,

I don't really see any way to record and playback an input. There is some help on the IVI Simulation in the following file C:\Program Files\National Instruments\IVI\Help\ni_ivihelp.chm Just look under IVI Class Driver Help>>IVI Class Driver Help for LabVIEW>>IVIDCPower>>Properties for controlling IVI DCPower Simulation. This might help. You will need to have installed the IVI Compliance package to reference this help. I hope this helps.
