More information on the CVI timer can be found in CVI Help under "Timer Control Overview" (Using LabWindows/CVI >> Developing a Graphical User Interface >> Creating a GUI >> Timer Control Overview).  Another entry of interest might be "Timer Controls and Multithreading" (Library Reference >> User Interface Library >> Multithreading >> Multithreading Restrictions >> Timer Controls and Multithreading).

More information on the Asynchronous Timer can be found in the help documentation for the asychronous timer instrument driver.
