What usb-serial hardware are you using with this application? Given that the hang seems to occur on the ComRdTerm() command, it could be that we are seeing this issue as a result of connectivity issues with the instrument. It might be useful to try other usb ports (is possible) on the devices and swap out any cables to secure the connection.
