workplace view selection CVI 8.5

I am trying to view two files at the same time (CVI 8.5).  There is no way to minimize the panel anymore because of the files are all on pages.

I like to view other files while I am working on a current file.  Having to flip from one pane to the next is not cutting it.

If you go to the "Workplace View Selection", up pops the old way with the ability to minimize a panel.  I have looked every where to get rid of these panels and nothing works.

Rich,

There are three different modes for showing windows in the CVI workspace: releasedconfined w/ tabs, and confined w/ MDI.

In order to see more than window at a time, you should probably use either classic or confined w/ MDI. When you are using MDI, simply de-maximize the individual windows, and you can then position the windows however you like within the confinement region.

Here's how you choose among the three options:

1. To choose between classic and confined, use View>>Workspace View Selection or View>>Window Confinement Region (the former sets a few more options in addition to the confinement region).

2. If you choose the confined option, in order to further choose between tabs and MDI, use Options>>Environment>>Show Tabbed Workspace.

Keep in mind that even if you are using confined windows, you can always release an individual window (Window>>Release Window). This allows you to view multiple windows at the same time even if you use a tabbed workspace.
