A data acquisition card for Lookout 5.0

Can I create a data acquisition card for Lookout 5.0, I know it works with NI cards but i want to build one, using the serial port, but I do not have the protocol that LookOut uses to get/send data from the serial port.

I wil apreciate any help you could give.

Hi Zorruno,

If you want to read from the Serial ports, why would you need an additional card? Lookout has Objects, like the ASCII Object which will directly read and write from the Serial ports. I don't see why would one want an additional card for this.

Lookout also supports 485 cards. The 485 ports just show up as any other COM port to Lookout.

May be you can give some more details of what you're trying to accomplish.

Lookout has an add-on, the called "Lookout Object Developer Toolkit"

If you need to know more about the toolkit you might just download the manual from our download area: Lookout Object Developer Toolkit Manual

With this set of public Lookout libraries, you can create your own Lookout driver to communicate with the serial port.
