Cannot Open State File For Writing

The state-file is stored as a *.l4t file in the location specified in the process configuration dialog box. This is either the Lookout folder or the same directory as the process itself.

I am not familiar with any settings in the lookout.ini file that disable state-file saving. I looked again at the documentation for the ini file but didn't see anything there either. There is one DevZONE entry that makes reference to a SaveState parameter but setting this value seemed to have no effect on my copy of Lookout.

If you're sure both instances of Lookout are version 5.0 then you could try to copy the INI from the computer that shows the behavior that you want to the other computer. Be sure to backup your original INI file because this is where the Lookout license information is stored. I would be interested to see the INI file of the "working" system.

The batch file option I recommended in a previous post might be your best bet. You could also consider upgrading to Lookout 6.0 which will, by default, exhibit the behavior you're expecting.

I am probably in error regarding the saving option.
It seems I transposed your .lkt for file ext .lks.
In the Lookout6 help under .ini, I found this.
...snipped....
[System]

SaveSource: You can tell Lookout to save or not save the .lks (source) file.
=0 Do not save .lks file

=1 Save .lks file (default)
