Creating PLC tags offline

I have a Lookout project that I am developing for a customer offline.
This will be for new equipment. I do not have access to the PLC but do have a list of Tags I will be using.

How can I insert these tags while working offline and without access to the PLC?

Thanks

Editing ‘off-line’ is no problem with Lookout.  The PLC object will be in communication failure until you gain access, but you can add alias (tags) at least two different ways.  You can add alias definitions via data member configuration one at a time, or import from an Excel spreadsheet (ver. 2.1 only).  You could also edit the source file and recompile.  I would recommend using Excel.

Thanks,

How does this work with the OPCclient?

When using this, there are sub-folders for each connection.

When importing a Excel file it placed the tags directly under the OPCclient object and I could not move them into a folder.

Is there a way to do this as I will have multiple PLC to connect to.

Hi Dswift,

It does not look like there are any options to do what you are looking for other than creating multiple OPCClient objects. Have a great day!
