In order to use the Recipe or Data Table objects in Lookout 5.0, you don't necessarily need Microsoft Excel 4.0. The important thing is that the spreadsheet is saved as a "worksheet" instead of a "workbook", which is the default. After you have create your spreadsheet in Excel, select the option to "save as". In the next dialog window, click on the pulldown for the TYPE category and select Excel 4.0 worksheet. This will format the file as one spreadsheet and make it accessible from Lookout.
