Floating alarm display setting malfunction

In the alarm display option in Lookout 6.1, I selected the floating display mode, but it will not allow the alarm popup window to display when you click on alarm icon in bottom right cornor. This was a Lookout upgrade from a very old version of Lookout.

After you select "floating", you should see the alarm windows popup.
If you select Window->Alarm window, will it pop up?

That's my problem, nothing popups even when I select show alarms. I have to select top or bottom display option to even see any alarms.

Go to Lookout folder, open lookout.ini by notepad.

You will see [alarms], and some parameters under it.  Some of them defines of position and size of the alarm window. Set the following four parameters to these values, save the file. Reopen Lookout, then you should see the alarm windows in the middle of your screen.

height=300
width=1000
top=100
left=50

If you don't see them in lookout ini, just add them under [alarms].

I I made the changes you sugested, I'am still unable to have the alarm popup work. The orignal settings that were in the Lookout.ini file were as follows. I've attached a copy of Lookout.ini from my machine.

height=133
width=808
top=588
left=5

I haven't tried reloading Lookout yet, could that possible help?

I am also using Lookout 6.1 and when I set the alarm display to floating it pops up. If I close it and double click at the bottom right again, it pops up.

One thing you might want to try is to set your screen resolution to its highest setting because the alarm panel might be popping up outside of the visible screen because in the past you went from a higher resolution to a lower resolution.

This happens to me with object explorer. My laptop display is usually in 1920 x 1200 so when I am developing my process file I have object explorer off to the side of my lookout panel.

If I Ichange the resolution to 1024 x 768, then I will not be able to see object explorer.

If you are already running in your highest display resolution, then I would try reinstalling Lookout.

Good luck!

Yes, the resolution may be the issue.

Also you can try to set the left=10, top=10, then it should be on top left corner no matter what resolution it is.

If neither works, repair or reinstall Lookout.
