Historical data viewer

I am just setting up Lookout (v 5.1) for the first time and am having some difficulty with the Historical Data Viewer. My database is set up and looging data, I can view it with a Hypertrend, but MAX doesn't see any databases when I launch the app. Is there anything I need to do to point MAX to the database?

Hello Edhead,

Complete the following steps to create a database from the MAX configuration tree.

1.Right-click Historical Data and select Create New.
2.Select the type of database to create from the Create New wizard and click Next.
3.Follow the instructions to create a new database.
4.Click Finish.

For future references you can also go to Help(in MAX)>>Help Topics>>Historical Data Viewer. If you go to the 'How Do I' column, it has a lot of useful references.

I tried Help but the only Topic I have in there is Remote Systems. Will "Create New Database" actually create a new database or just link to my existing database?

MAX will do both - create a new database if it doesn't exist, or connect to a database that already exists. I use MAX to archive data from the 'live' lookout database into a newly created database on a regular basis.
