Is there some way to read from this device? It's a device that is on a network and I can ping it's IP, but cannot read from it. Supposedly it is Modbus protocol, but Modbus has a communication error. Any ideas?
Before we try the Modbus, we need to make sure that this device does support it. You can contact the manufacturer or read its manual for the support protocol.
I just get a comm failure. I receive no readings. Unfortunately, this is not my PLC. I'm working with the integrators that put it in however, and they're suggesting that they write to one of my PLC's addresses. So, perhaps I will not require communication with this device.
