LAN has the port used by SMTP closed but Exchange server is available

2 questions about the Mailer object:

1) The clients LAN has the port used by SMTP closed. Is there a way to use the clients Exchange server (which is available on the LAN) to send the emails? (or is there another way).

If the first question can be solved then:

2) How do I send an email to several people sequentially if any of 50 or so alarms go off in 6.5 *nights and weekends* only?

Lookout 6.5 running on Xp.

TIA Bill

NI has a modified email driver, message "Ryan S."

You would need to create a process to do this, and would depend on the requirements for sending notifications.  Be a little more specific and we may be able to help

Thanks Mike,

Do you mean the modified email driver will send emails even when the port used by SMTP is closed?

If so then how do I get this modified driver?

The modified driver allows you to specify the email server port number.  If your provider only offers port 25, then it gets more tricky.

Thanks for the reply.

How do I get in touch with Ryan Shi to get the updated Mailer object?
