How is a text box/object created so that by monitoring a plc input that the text changes depending on the state of the input.
Ex. - the  text box would display "Extended" when the input is on and "Retracted" when the input is off.

You can create an expression and use LOGICAL display type.  This will give you an option to enter text for ON condition and OFF condition.
