Numeric Indicators are not being refreshed (regularly) in Lookout

Kevin,

In Edit mode, if you move around the indicators, do you get the latest values?  That would indicate a graphics/refresh issue.

Hello Khalid,

I have been talking with Allan from NI and he believes it is possibly an issue with the MODBUS driver linked to version 5.0. So, I should be getting the latest version of Lookout (scheduled to arrive today - July 26, 2005), which will hopefully fix the problem - I'll keep the dicussion board posted.

To answer your question, no they do not update when moving the indicators in edit mode.

Thanks and lets hope 6.0.1 fixes this issue. Smiley Tongue

Folks:

After upgrading to 6.0.1, things seemed to go a "little" better however there was still a problem with refreshing the indicators. So after working with Jeff at NI, we decided to try something. We added a value into the deadband of the analog input MODBUS data member. Although this value looks like it is associated only with the alarm conditions, this seemed to fix the problem. Jeff said he will pass it along to the Lookout team for further review.

Thanks for the help (especially Khalid)!

Don't know if this is your problem, but...

I was having an issue where a numeric expression was not updating regularly.

It turned out that in the data member configuration, where I had assigned an alias to the data member, I had EU deviation set at 0.1

The data would only refresh after a tenth "rolled over".

Since it is a flaoting point read, I set the deviation to 0.0001 and all is now well.

I hope your problem is as simple as this too!
