I am having a nuisance problem with "red X". I am running Lookout 6.0.2. I am using PLCDirect DL205 series PLC processors and H2-ECOM100 Ethernet modules. Lookout and PLCs are connected via Ethernet radios. These radios connect at 256 KB, which I realize is slow, but this is what I have. Lookout connects fine to all devices, and we have not had any comm link become disabled during normal operation.
This setup looses packets on occasion (more often than I would like). This generates a "Transport Protocol Error" in the alarm screen each time it happens, and the dreaded "red x" for one to two seconds. The second retry is good 99.99% of the time, and the alarm clears. I have spoke with NI and AutomationDirect several times to change timeout settings, poll times, etc.
I am going to generate a "heartbeat" in the PLC for monitoring of an actual comm failure, and I would like to disable the "red X" on the displays. Can this be done?
I tried replacing the "red x" graphic with a very small box, but this did not work.
