Web Client Events in Alarm Window

Hi there,

I was wondering why button pushes, etc. result in entries in the Web Client alarm window when the following is entered into the lookout.ini file:

[AlarmFilter]
flagPriority=1
Alarmsonly=1
MinPriority=4
MaxPriority=10
OldAlarmsNumber=0

I have downloaded the latest patches to the lookout player.  If this is a software bug, could somebody advise as to when this will be corrected?

Regards,

Andrew

Greetings!

   Thanks for the email! Yes this is a know issue / bug we are aware and are working towards fixing it. At this time we cannot guarantee a specific time.

The filter options for the Alarm Window running on a client machine using the Free Client software that ships with Lookout will have no effect on the client machine. If you need an immediate workaround, you can either install the development version of Lookout on the client (if you have a valid license), or you can modify the client process to use the NI AlarmEvent Browser ActiveX control.

Complete the following steps to use the ActiveX control.

   1. Add the ActiveX object called NI AlarmEvent Browser to the Client Process.

   2. On the Properties window for the ActiveX object, click on the Property Pages button.

   3. Set the PopupMenu property to True and then set the Active property to True.

   4. Exit and close out of the various property windows, saving the changes.

   5. Drag the new ActiveX object onto the panel and size appropriately.

   6. Go to Run Mode.

   7. Right-click on the Alarm and Event Viewer and choose to select Processes...

   8. Select the server process you wish to monitor and click OK.

   9. You should now see any active alarms and events. Right-click on the Alarm and Event Viewer again to set the Filter Options and acknowledge alarms.

Thanks and hope this helps
Best regards
Avi Harjani
