Why does Lookout not accept the comm port change?

I go into Serial Ports... and make the change from Com1 to ComX, click accept, then quit.  When I go back into Serial Ports...  Com1 is selected again.  What am I doing wrong?  Also, can I use a USB to Serial converter with Lookout?

Is this in the Com Port Options or on a driver object?

From the Menu Bar I choose Options, then from the drop down i choose Serial Ports...  It lets me change the com port but when I accept and exit the com port changes back.

Jeremy,

The options display is for settings the behind the scenes settings and for diagnostics it does not choose the port in which to communicate.

The driver object (modbus for example) allows you to choose the COM to communicate on.

I have been using a usb to 4-port serial adapter for several years with Lookout, and they work great.
