I have 2 VOIP lines. One goes to my regular phone, the other to my fax line. The signal comes via an external Netgear modem, then to the Netgear router, then to a Netgear switch box, then to the VOIP box (that has my phone line and my fax line in separate ports). I cant connect to my system at all and I cant download any data at all. The red light shows not connected all the time. I am using my fax machine to connect to the site. Remember, my fax machine number is VOIP. I've got an HP Officejet K60 fax with 3 ports on the back..1 shows for a computer, 1 shows for a phone, and 1 shows for the wall jack signal..I am running Windows 7 on my host computer. The computer is ethernetted to the Netgear modem. This computer also contains an internal modem. I have connected a wire from the internal modem of the computer to the fax port for a phone. The fax also has a connection from the fax machine's wall jack port to the Voip box...why cant I connect

What exactly is Lookouts job in this setup?
I have had mixed success with analog modems on a VoIP connection. Drop the speed to 14.4kbps and test again.
