lookout panel that can't be closed

Is there any way to create a panel in lookout that while activated, can't be deactivated/closed/minimized or whatever (i.e. basically so the user is stuck on that panel until they hit the 'Close' button I made...
thanks

That's a good suggestion to be able to create a panel object (Normal without titlebar). Or a datamember, so you could show/hide the titlebar of a panel object.

We have put a development suggestion to the Lookout product.

Currently, I don't know of a workaround.

Roland
PS: Maybe a timer object combined with the pushbutton/switch state and an expression could put back the panel to be maximized when it is minimized not by the switch/pushbutton...

Yes, as Roland mentions, there's no good way of doing this, unfortunately.

Another really crude workaround is to use the Security setting of 'Menu and title bars will not be visible' (under System Options) with an appropriate level and then maximize the panel (using the datamember). The user is then stuck on this panel.

Let's hope the feature of Panels without title bars -- aka Modal panels -- is implemented in the next release of Lookout.

Regards,

Khalid 🙂
