mailer object malfunction Lookout 5.1

I have a Lookout 5.1 application running (has been running for 3 yrs). I have mailer objects sending alarm notification to the on-call operator. The mailer object has quit working, I receive an alarm "error connecting to server". However, I can launch outlook express and successfully send emails using the same smtp server. I connected the tracefile to a .txt file. The text file only reads [[NEW SEND]]. This is obviously not helpful. The customer is in a bad situation since their alarm notification is now down. I could use some help quickly.

On which computer do you use outlook to send emails? If it's on a different computer, it doesn't mean the computer that runs lookout process can access the mail sever.
Follow this article to troubleshoot this problem. It uses the same way to send email as lookout does.

I am in the same situation.  the client has had the emailer for years and it quit working.  When I click on the link to the article, it says it is moved.  Do you perhaps have a new link?

Unfortunately, I don't know if the article was migrated to another system. The best advice I can offer is to search on Lookout and mailer. My search returned a number of results related to connectivity issues.

 

As Lookout was discontinued in 2021, you may want to encourage your clients to migrate to another HMI/SCADA system.
