nicitdl5.exe and losing trends in Lookout 6.0.2 (with updates)?

In the past week I have been consistently losing all trends on my client machines, and in order to ge them back I have to shut down nicitdl5.exe (NOT Lookout) and restart it on the server machine. In the event manager I see some sql and lookout related events but nothing specifically talking about nicitdl5.exe. Any idea what is going on with nicitdl5.exe?

Thanks for any response.

Hopefully, if you guys at NI can correct the cause of the crash it will also correct the issue with losing trends and having to restart nicitdl5.exe to get them back.

Please respond A.S.A.P.

Thanks!

RyanS,

Could you send me the information you sent to JPhillips? I am getting the same error message and the same loss of trending.

Regards,
Freeda

What's your lookout version?

Does the crash happen on the server machine or the client? Does the hypertrend work fine and no data lost on server machine?

Actually even if the CItadel Service(nicitdl5.exe) stops when Lookout running, the logging will still work. So the data won't be lost if nicitdl5.exe stops and restart. But the client hypertrend will lose data without this service.

If the crash happens on server, have a look at the windows events, check any error or warning about the Citadel or SQL. The database may be corrupted. Do you see the crash very often?
