Yes you are right, the current version of MATRIXx (version 7.0) is only supported on Solaris 7. However...
Since NI acquired the product we have been building up the development team and started work on a updated version for the PC to be released mid-summer. A Sun version for Solaris 8 is intended to be released later this year. Customers who have MATRIXx SSP will automatically receive these releases which work on the latest O/S, include bugs fixes and gives you access to technical support. So if you are interested in a version of MATRIXx for Solaris 8 I would encourage you to sign up for SSP. See the Welcome Back program linked from www.ni.com/matrixx for more information.
