1405 acquisition

I believe this is a simple problem...

I have a standard NTSC 640x480 camera.

When I start grabbing video in MACS, it works perfectly, from anywhere from 2-20 seconds. I then get a popup window stating there is no video to aquire. Obviously it is aquiring it as I can see the video as it streams in.

I can hit the grab button again and this process repeats. Occasionally, I receive a different error that basically says "waiting for an event and didn't find it". The grab stops and I have to reenable it.

Unfortunatly I do not have the error code with me at this time.

The card is running on a startech PCI expansion board (4 PCI slots availible from plugging into a PCIe on the computer).

Are they errors NI errors or Windows errors?

Can you try the capture card in a regular PCI slot?

Screenshots of the errors will help us a lot.

Okay I have some more information.

Both the 1405 and 1410 cards work fine when plugged into the computer PCI port and not the expansion port.

The 1410 and 1405 both have the same error "No aquisition in process" 0xBFF6001E when grabbing from a NTSC 640x480 camera and are in the PCI expander (works fine anywhere from 2-20 seconds till the error). When the error occurs, there is usually a blip or shift in the video stream.

Strangly when using the 1410 in expander and viewing our Sony HR50 the error never pops up.

We have tried other NTSC cameras with the same result, also using the RS170 camera file gave the same result.

Hi Alex,

I do not see any previous issues with the Startech PCI expansion board, however the error you are getting is due to bandwidth restrictions. My assumption is that when you use the expansion board, the bandwidth for the PCI boards gets split across the slots and as a result the bandwidth is not sufficient.
