Axis IP Camera with NI Vision Builder 2010?

Hello

I would be very grateful if anyone can help with a problem i have?

I would like to use a AXIS Companion V IP camera via a AXIS Switch from a laptop to use for vision detection. The software i am using is NI Vision Builder 2010.

The camera is recognized within vision builder and MAX. When i go to take a snapshot i get the following error -

The specific image aquisition device could not be initialized properly

Error 1074360267 occured at an unidentified location

Possible reasons

NI - IMAQdx Hex 0xBFF69035 The camera returned an unknown HTTP error.

Any help or advice is much appriciated.

Hi,

Thank you for posting this question. I would like to check up on this post since no one in the community has gotten back to you yet.

Under Acquisition Attributes the Pixel Format setting has two options, JPEG and JPEG Mono. The 1920 IP camera has several setting one of which is JPEG. However by default the Stream 0 is H.264 Base Profile. Switching to JPEG should hopefully work. I am assuming the error is related to the mismatch in Stream type and it does not look like the H.264 codex is supported.

If that does not work, try these steps:

1) You mentioned that you are able to see the camera using the Basler utility, but could you check the acquisition using a standard web browser.

2) Try disabling the wireless internet on your laptop, also we should disable the firewall.

3) Check to see if these errors occur when you attempt to change an attribute in MAX, if errors do not occur you may be able to verify that they are updated via the web browser

4) Check the password for the IP camera, and double check any other communication settings in MAX against the Basler utility.

Hello thank you for the reply.

I have changed the video mode and pixel format to JPEG, this still does not work?

The camera is recognized in MAX under 'network 'as the correct camera (Axis IP camera "cam2) but under the 'settings' tab the host name and IPv4 address is the same out and does not match the IP address browser of the camera?

The host name and ip address under the settings tab both now do now match the ip of the camera.

But i still can not see any live image from the camera when using NI MAX or Vision Builder. When i use the Axis Companion program i can see a live view ok.

Do i need to set anything else up to let NI work with my camera?
