Hello
Could somebody with links to National Instruments please tell me if Axis Companion V cameras are supported?
According to Axis they are not? Even though state that Axis and Basler cameras are supported.
If not, Is there a way i could run the Companion software to display images and then this would link to Vision Assistant to snap an image? As mentioned on a previous post the camera is recognized but not image displayed(unknown http error)
Kind regards
Dean

Hi Dean,
Generally, IMAQdx does support Axis IP cameras, but that doesn't mean that it will always work with any camera that Axis releases. The fact that it is recognized in MAX is a good sign that it might work. Did Axis give you any more information about why they thought it wouldn't work? What problems are you running into when you try connecting to it?

Hello
Thank you for the reply.
Axis just said that the companion V is designed just to run with their software and nothing third party?
When using NI Max and Vision Builder the camera is displayed (serial No, IP address etc) but when i try to take a image or snapshot the following error is displayed -
"The specific image acquisition device could not be initialized properly
Error 1074360267 occurred at an unidentified location
Possible reasons
NI - IMAQdx Hex 0xBFF69035 The camera returned an unknown HTTP error"
I have included a few screen shots. There does not seem to be a drop down for motion jpeg?

Does choosing any of the JPEG options work? The default stream option probably won't work since most IP camera used a compressed H.264 bitstream, which isn't supported in IMAQdx. Also, you'll want to make sure that the camera is on the same subnet as your computer. Otherwise, you'll definitely run into problems.
If you verify both of those and it still doesn't work, I'm more inclined to believe Axis when they say that it won't work with 3rd party software.

Hello
Thank you for the reply.
Choosing the jpeg options does not work, i have gone into the Axis camera settings and changed the video compression mode from H.264 to MJPEG. This still does not work. I thought there might be another piece of software or program i could use to grab the image from the Companion program and put it into Vision Builder?
Never mind, back to the drawing board..
